Types of Evaluations

Dimensions Psychology conducts evaluations using the latest evidence-based measures to best understand the strengths and weaknesses of each child.

Our evaluations are designed to uncover the root of a child’s challenges and provide clear guidance for next steps. We work with families and schools to address concerns such as ADHD and other attention difficulties, social and behavioral challenges, learning struggles that impact success in the classroom, and emotional disorders like anxiety or depression. Each evaluation is tailored to the individual child, offering a comprehensive picture of their strengths and needs. With this understanding, we provide practical recommendations that support growth, learning, and well-being across home, school, and everyday life.

Psychoeducational Evaluations

Our psychoeducational evaluations provide a comprehensive understanding of how a child learns, processes information, and manages challenges in the classroom. These assessments identify whether difficulties in areas such as attention, learning, or emotional functioning may be affecting academic progress.

We evaluate a wide range of concerns, including language-based learning disorders, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia (math-related difficulties), reading comprehension challenges, written expression disorders, and attention difficulties. Because learning differences often overlap with emotional or behavioral concerns, our assessments also consider attentional and emotional functioning to provide a complete picture.

By understanding your child’s intellectual, academic, and behavioral profile, we can make targeted recommendations for classroom accommodations, interventions, and support strategies. Our goal is to help teachers, families, and students better understand learning strengths and challenges, ultimately supporting greater success and confidence in school.

Psychological Evaluations

We provide comprehensive psychological evaluations to better understand personality, behavioral, social, and emotional functioning. These assessments offer diagnostic clarification and guide recommendations for treatment planning, goal setting, and support needs.

A typical evaluation may include a clinical interview, classroom observation (when appropriate), and standardized testing of intellectual, attentional, personality, and behavioral functioning. Academic skills are also screened, with additional testing recommended if needed.

Our evaluations are collaborative and multidisciplinary, drawing on the expertise of our clinicians. Once testing is complete, the lead clinician reviews the results with families, outlines recommendations, and provides a detailed written report. Reports are typically delivered within four weeks of the feedback appointment.
